Back Ground on Formation of Pithruvedi
The concept of forming an organization of Catholic father’s (Head of the family) started brewing in the minds of the Diocesan leadership years back and Pithruvedi was created with the appointment of Fr. George Vattamattam as Director by our Bishop His Excellency Mar Thomas Elavanal on June 5, 2008. The vision and mission of the organisation was discussed at various levels in the Diocese and the outcome of this was presented in the Kalyan Diocesan trustees meeting of June 2009 by the Pithruvedi Director.
Based on the discussions and ideation at the trustees meeting, a representative meeting was held on July 4, 2009 under the Chairmanship of Rev. Msgr.
